China sent 1,000 tons of aid to Afghanistan

The Chinese ambassador in Kabul announced that his country had sent more than a thousand tons of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan.

Wang Yu, China’s ambassador to Kabul, wrote on his Twitter page this morning that a train carrying more than 1,000 tons of his country’s humanitarian aid had departed from Xinjiang.

He added that the shipment of humanitarian aid included food and winter clothing.

China says it has sent more than 2,600 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan since 2021.

However, after the Taliban took control of Afghanistan and cut off humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, more than half of the country’s population fell below the poverty line, and international organizations are warning of a humanitarian catastrophe.
