The Taliban again demanded the release of Afghanistan’s frozen assets

The Taliban’s acting foreign minister has once again called for the release of frozen assets of Afghanistan by the United States.
In an interview with China’s media, Amir Khan Mottaki, the Taliban’s acting foreign minister, stressed that the Taliban no longer had any military opposition to the United States and called on the United States to release Afghanistan’s frozen money.
“The money should be released as soon as possible,” Mottaqi said. “The Americans have no military opposition to us. Why did they confiscate the money they confiscated? This money does not belong to the Mujahideen, but to the people of Afghanistan.”
Earlier, the Taliban official wrote a letter to members of Congress urging the release of Afghanistan’s frozen assets, saying: “The biggest challenge facing Afghanistan is financial insecurity, and the root of this concern is the freezing of people’s assets. “We are being returned by the US government.”
The acting Taliban foreign minister also said that the current crisis in Afghanistan dates back to the US presence in the country.
