The Taliban legalize cannabis production in Afghanistan

The Taliban have announced that a cannabis processing plant will be built in Afghanistan, which will make cannabis and cream from cannabis produced in the country.
Taliban spokesman Saeed Khosti tweeted that officials from the Interior Ministry’s counter-narcotics department had met with a representative of the company (Cpharm) and that the company was planning to build a hashish processing plant in Afghanistan.
“By establishing this factory, Cpharm will use cannabis produced in Afghanistan to make spices and a kind of cream,” Khosti wrote.
“Currently, 20 acres of land in Afghanistan is planted with cannabis, and the company needs 30 acres of land to cultivate cannabis, and the company is set to invest $ 430 million in this sector,” he added.
According to a Taliban spokesman, all stages of the contract with the company have been completed and the project will officially begin in the coming days.
