Turkey ranks first in the livestock sector in Europe

The European Statistics Agency and the Turkish Statistical Institute announced that Turkey ranked first in Europe in the field of animal husbandry in 2020.

According to the data of the European Statistics Agency, European countries in 2020 had a total of 76 million and 462 thousand large cattle (cattle), respectively, France with 17 million and 789 thousand heads and Germany with 11 million and 301 thousand heads, the first and second ranks in Europe. In this field.

On the other hand, the number of large livestock in Turkey last year was estimated at 18 million and 158 thousand, which according to this statistic, the country has more domestic livestock than any other European country such as cattle and buffalo.

In 2020, Turkey ranked first in Europe with 54,113,000 small livestock such as goats and sheep, while European countries owned a total of 75 million small livestock.
