The head of the Kabul Passport Office did not give a specific date for the opening of the office

The head of the Taliban Passport Office says it is unclear when the Kabul Passport Office will resume operations as it is still short of equipment.
“We have made every effort to reopen the office, but we are still short of equipment,” Alam Gul Haqqani, head of the Taliban’s passport office, told Reuters.
The office was forced to close last month after equipment used to issue biometric documents for passports broke down, but demand for passports has steadily increased.
“I am confident that the office will be reopened and we will fulfill all the requests,” Haqqani added. “I assure the nation that no one will leave our office for any reason.”
He said a number of provincial passport offices were still open, with officials in Kabul examining between 2,000 and 3,000 passports a day, but it was unclear when the Kabul office would reopen.
