The price of a loaf of bread in Kabul rose to 15 afghanis

The Chamber of Craftsmen and Shopkeepers increased the price of a 10-afghani bread to 15 afghanis by publishing price lists due to the unprecedented increase in the price of flour and liquefied natural gas.

The price list, published by the chamber yesterday, states that in consultation with the Kabul Municipality, the price of a 200-gram loaf of bread should be increased to 15 afghanis and the price of a 270-gram bread to 20 afghanis.

The Chamber of Craftsmen and Shopkeepers added that this price increase is temporary and will be revised if the price of flour and gas decreases.

In recent days, however, the value of the national currency against the dollar has fallen sharply, with one US dollar being exchanged for 125 afghanis in the country.

On the other hand, with the increase in the value of the dollar against the national currency, the price of raw materials has also increased in the market.
