Russia’s ambassador to Kabul says his country has sent more than 100 tonnes of humanitarian aid to Afghanistan since November.

Russia’s ambassador to Kabul, Dmitry Zhirnov, was quoted by Sputnik as saying that more than 100 tonnes of humanitarian aid, including medicine and food, had been sent to Afghanistan by Russian military transport planes since November this year.

“On December 18, Russian military transport planes carried 36 tons of food and, most importantly, medicine that the Afghan people need in the face of the economic and social crisis caused by the blockade of Afghan assets by the Americans,” Zhirnov told reporters.
