Taliban: We will not allow the United States to cooperate with us militarily

The Taliban deputy prime minister says the group will never allow US military cooperation.

Taliban Deputy Prime Minister Abdul Salam Hanafi said yesterday during a meeting with Iranian Deputy Ambassador to Kabul Seyed Hassan Mortazavi that the group would never allow the United States to cooperate militarily.

Hanafi stressed that US aid to Afghanistan could be purely humanitarian, adding that while the United States sees Afghanistan’s economic problems under its control, it continues to emphasize economic pressure.

However, during the meeting, the Iranian deputy ambassador also said that the country will continue to provide assistance to the people of Afghanistan.
