A mortar shell exploded in Baghlan, killing two children

Local sources in Baghlan report that four children were killed and injured as a result of a mortar shell explosion in the province.

Maulvi Asadullah Mustafa Hashemi, director of information and culture in Baghlan province, said that the incident took place yesterday on Melanoruz hill in Pul-e-Khumri city, the capital of the province.

According to him, two children were killed and two others were injured in the incident.

The head of information and culture in Baghlan added that the incident took place when the children were playing with a mortar shell.

He said the condition of the injured in the incident was dire.
