Taliban call on aid agencies to help victims of recent Badghis earthquake

As a result of the increase in the number of earthquake casualties in Badghis province yesterday, the Taliban have asked for aid agencies to help the victims of the accident.
Taliban deputy spokesman Enamullah Samangani told reporters today that the incident took place in a remote area and that exact casualties were not known, adding that the death toll could rise.
According to him, two earthquakes shook Badghis province yesterday, as a result of which nearly a thousand houses were destroyed and huge damages were caused to the local residents.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) also says 26 people have been killed and four others injured in the incident.
