Amnesty International to Taliban: Let the girls go to school

Amnesty International has issued a statement calling on the Taliban to open girls’ schools in Afghanistan.
The statement said that girls and women in Afghanistan had been denied the right to education, adding that the Taliban had barred girls over the age of 12 from attending school, shattering girls’ dreams of a future education.
The Taliban continued to deny women and girls access to their rights, including the right to education, despite global pressure, This international institution said in a statement.
While urging the Taliban to allow girls to study science, it stressed the need to stand by the girls of Afghanistan.
Taliban officials, meanwhile, have expressed hope that girls’ schools will reopen across the country by the beginning of next spring.
