The Taliban have rejected a UN Security Council report on the visit of Osama bin Laden’s son to Afghanistan

Reacting to a UN Security Council report on the visit of Osamah bin Laden’s son to Afghanistan, the Taliban said there was no evidence of this.

The Taliban Ministry of Foreign Affairs today rejected in a statement the UN Security Council report on the presence of foreign groups in Afghanistan.

“We do not consider such reports, in which there is no evidence, to be in the best interest of Afghanistan, the region and the world,” the ministry said in a statement.

“The Taliban-led government has fulfilled its obligations under the Doha Agreement and will not allow anyone to pose a threat to Afghanistan from other countries, and it expects the same from others,” the ministry added.

The ministry expressed hope that the UN Security Council would make responsible statements.

A recent report by the UN Security Council states that Abdullah, the son of al-Qaeda founder Osama bin Laden, traveled to Afghanistan to meet with the Taliban in October last year.

According to the council, groups such as al-Qaeda believe that by recognizing the Taliban, the label of terrorism will be removed from them.
