Abdullah and Karzai demanded the return of politicians to the country

The former president and chairman of the former government’s High Council for National Reconciliation are urging the Taliban to allow politicians to return to the country.

Former Afghan President Hamid Karzai and former Supreme National Reconciliation Council chairman Abdullah Abdullah have written a letter urging the Taliban to pave the way for politicians to return to the country.

Although the Taliban have previously said that politicians and former government officials can return to the country and continue their lives, they can not hold government office.
