The process of applying the polio vaccine began in the western part of the country

Health officials in the western part of the country have announced the introduction of polio vaccine in these areas and say that due to the cold weather and blocked roads, children in some areas of Ghor province will be deprived of this vaccine.

According to Sputnik, 1.1 million children in Herat, Ghor, Farah and Badghis provinces will be covered by the start of the polio vaccination process in the western part of the country.

Vahid Rahmani, in charge of polio vaccination in the western zone, says that the process of polio vaccination in the western provinces of the country will start today, and about one and a half million children in the western zone will be vaccinated during this period.

“Due to the cold weather and the blockage of transportation routes, the implementation of the polio vaccine in Ghor province has become difficult,” he added.

However, according to the polio vaccination officials in the western part of the province, some areas of Ghor province were deprived of the vaccine last year also.

Ghor is one of the coldest provinces in the west of the country and has mountainous and inaccessible paths, which is why its people are deprived of most projects.
