Red Cross: The health system in Afghanistan needs immediate support

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies has called on the international community to provide immediate support to health services in Afghanistan.

The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) said in a statement that while the positives of Covid-19 are spreading in Afghanistan, the vaccination process is slowing down to slow its spread.

There is a possibility of a crisis if the international community does not support the health sector in Afghanistan in this situation, he added.

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) also said that according to the World Health Organization, almost half of the Covid-19 samples tested in Afghanistan were positive, indicating how rapid the virus was.

Noting that only 10 of the 37 Covid-19 public health centers in Afghanistan are currently active, the agency added that only 10 percent of the population in the country has been fully vaccinated and that the Afghan health system is Fighting to this and other diseases.

Meanwhile, Kovid-19 hospitals in Afghanistan are said to be short of equipment and medicine, and staff at these hospitals have not been paid for months.
