Trade between Afghanistan and Pakistan has dropped by $ 1 billion

Recent developments in the country have reduced $ 1 billion in trade between Afghanistan and Pakistan.

According to the Express Tribune, officials from the Pakistan-Afghanistan Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry have now reduced trade volume between the two countries from $ 2.5 billion to $ 1 billion.

“Lack of friendly trade policies, lack of proper trade exchange mechanisms, inefficient investment and joint venture policies are key factors in reducing trade volume,” the chamber said in a report.

The report also cites problems in Afghanistan’s banking system as the main reason for the decline in trade between the two countries.

Meanwhile, due to the border conflict between Afghanistan and Pakistan, the Spinboldak border crossing, which is one of the important trade ports between the two countries, has been closed for the past three days.
