An explosion in Ghazni killed three children

Local officials in Ghazni reported that three children were killed in an explosion of unexploded ordnance in the province.

Sayed Ishaq Saleh, spokesman for the Ghazni police command, said the incident took place yesterday near the village of Qarabaghi in the center of Ghazni province.

According to him, the incident was caused by a mortar shell left over from the clashes, as a result of which three children were killed and another child was injured.

Saleh said the children were trying to sell the mortar at a local market when they were killed in the blast.

In most provinces of the country, civilians have already been the victims of unexploded ordnance left over from the conflict.
