Russia declared a temporary ceasefire in five Ukrainian cities

The Russian Defense Ministry’s Defense Management Center announced temporary ceasefires in five Ukrainian cities to evacuate civilians.

The humanitarian situation in Ukrainian cities has deteriorated, the ministry said in a statement.

The announcement, which calls for humanitarian aid corridors to be set up in the Ukrainian cities of Kyiv, Chernigiv, Sumy, Kharkiv and Mariupol, has been proposed to Ukrainians to agree on the opening hours of the corridors by 3 a.m. Moscow time.

The ceasefire was reportedly announced at 10 a.m. Moscow time today, and Russia is ready to build humanitarian corridors.

Clashes between Russia and Ukraine began on February 24 and have now spread to major Ukrainian cities.
