The Afghan embassy in Washington will be closed

The New York Times reported that the Afghan embassy in the United States will be closed due to lack of money to run its affairs.

The New York Times, which published the report yesterday, quoted US State Department officials as saying that the Afghan embassy in Washington will be closed because it was not supported by a recognized government and did not have enough money to run its affairs.

The New York Times reports that Afghan diplomats at the embassy have been given 30 days to apply for residency or humanitarian visas to stay in the United States.

According to US officials, the diplomats will not be returned to Afghanistan because their lives will be in danger, but it is unclear where they will go.

So far, the Taliban government, which the group calls temporary, has not been recognized by any country.
