WFP: Child malnutrition rates are high in 28 provinces of Afghanistan

The World Food Program says malnutrition rates are high in Afghanistan’s 28 provinces, and children in those provinces need nutritional support.
The agency tweeted today that out of 34 provinces in Afghanistan, 28 have high rates of acute malnutrition.
It adds that more than 3.5 million children in Afghanistan are in need of nutritional support, and many children have access to life-saving nutrition thanks to donors.
International aid agencies say the need for humanitarian aid in Afghanistan has now increased by 30 percent and more than half of the country’s population is living in poverty and unemployment.
