The third train of Turkish humanitarian aid arrived in Herat

The Turkish embassy in Kabul announced on Monday night the arrival of the third humanitarian aid train of the Turkish government and said that the third shipment of humanitarian aid had arrived in Herat.

The train carries 994 tons of humanitarian aid from the Turkish Disaster Management Agency “Afad” and 19 charities, including food, clothing, camping, sanitary ware and disinfectants. It is said that the aid will be distributed to needy families in all provinces.

This is the third shipment of Turkish humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan, especially the needy, in recent months.

It is estimated that more than 90 percent of Afghanistan’s population is currently living below the poverty line, and that more than half of the country’s population is starving.

The director of the World Food Program has previously called the humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan the worst humanitarian catastrophe in the world, saying that 95 percent of Afghanistan’s population is malnourished and that 23 million people are starving.
