A mortar shell exploded in Paktia, killing two people

Security sources in Paktia say two people were killed when a mortar shell exploded in the province.

According to them, this mortar shell was left over from previous wars.

The sources added that the incident took place in Gardisiri district of Paktia province and as a result three people were injured.

About three weeks ago, a mortar shell exploded in Kunduz province, killing two children.

According to sources in Kunduz, the blast in Khanabad district of the province took place when children were playing with an unexploded mortar shell.

Another child was injured in the incident.
