Imran Khan: After 40 years, the real opportunity has come to restore peace in Afghanistan

The Prime Minister of Pakistan has said that after 40 years, there is a real opportunity to restore peace and security in Afghanistan and the region.
Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan in an article on the occasion of the 48th meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation called on the countries of the Islamic world to act collectively to prevent a humanitarian crisis and economic collapse in Afghanistan.
“We must work actively with Afghan officials to promote human rights, especially women’s rights, encourage greater learning, and develop effective strategies to eliminate the terrorist threat from the country,” she wrote in the article, addressing members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
Meanwhile, a meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation is scheduled to be held in Islamabad, the capital of Pakistan, in the next two days with the presence of the foreign ministers of Islamic countries.
However, some sources have said that Pakistan is trying to gain legitimacy for the Taliban at the meeting.
The previous meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) was held in Pakistan in December last year, in which Islamic countries pledged to establish a humanitarian aid mechanism and work with the United Nations to release Afghanistan’s frozen assets.
