Afghanistan exported more than one million square meters of hand-woven carpets last year

The Taliban Chamber of Commerce and Investment announced that Afghanistan exported $ 35 million worth of hand-woven carpets in 1400 AH.
“In the year 1400 AH, we exported more than one million square meters of handmade carpets worth about $ 35 million,” said a statement issued by the Chamber of Commerce and Investment.
It called on national and international organizations to work together to grow and promote the hand-woven carpet industry in Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, an exhibition of handmade carpets opened in the Afghan capital, Kabul, yesterday.
The opening ceremony of the exhibition, which was held at Najib Zaraf Carpet Market, was attended by Anamullah Samangani, Deputy Spokesman of the Taliban Provisional Government, Jihad Erginay, Turkish Ambassador to Kabul, Tika officials and officials of the Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Investment.
There are about eighty booths in this exhibition where carpet weavers, including women from different provinces of Afghanistan, display their handmade carpets.
