Taliban Commander Reacts to Schools Closure: Governance does not work this way

A former spokesman for the Taliban’s Kabul police headquarters reacted to the closure of girls’ schools in Afghanistan, saying the government was not doing so.
According to Amaj News, General Mobin, a Taliban commander, criticized the group’s leadership’s decision to keep girls’ schools closed in Afghanistan, saying: “This is not the way to govern; “We have to reform ourselves.”
He added that the government does not work like this, 20 years ago we tortured people for not having beards, but today we say it was wrong.
Meanwhile, the Taliban’s decision to keep schools closed to girls above the sixth grade in Afghanistan has provoked strong reactions.
Yesterday, several international organizations also expressed regret over the Taliban’s decision.
