The World Bank suspended four projects in Afghanistan

The World Bank has suspended four its $ 600 million projects in Afghanistan in response to the Taliban blocking secondary schools and high schools for girls.

The World Bank has announced that the projects will resume if all students in Afghanistan have access to the right to education and the situation in the country is acceptable to the people.

According to the bank, all support projects of the Afghanistan Trust Fund will now be available to women and girls without any restrictions.

The Taliban Ministry of Education announced last week that girls’ schools (secondary and high schools) would be closed until further notice.

The ministry said in a statement that whenever school uniforms are designed in accordance with Afghan law, customs and culture, the schools will be opened in accordance with the Taliban leadership.
