SIGAR: The army of the former Afghan government has joined the resistance

The US Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) tweeted, quoting the US Defense Intelligence Agency, that members of the former Afghan government’s army, including commandos, had joined the anti-Taliban resistance.
Meanwhile, Ali Meysam Nazari, the head of foreign relations of the “Resistance Front”, confirmed the SIGAR claim in a tweet and wrote that the former forces are the “backbone” of this front.
He quoted Ahmad Massoud, the leader of the Resistance Front as saying, that the front was seeking to revive Afghanistan’s former army.
Earlier, there were reports that members of the former Afghan government’s army had joined ISIS, which was rejected by the Taliban.
