Imran Khan has been fired as Pakistan’s prime minister

Pakistan’s cabinet has said in an official statement that Imran Khan has been fired as prime minister.

A Pakistani cabinet statement said Imran Khan would remain in office until a new prime minister is appointed.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan’s no-confidence motion was due to be put to a vote in parliament yesterday, but was rejected by the parliamentary leadership, after which the president dissolved parliament at the request of Imran Khan.

Imran Khan’s opposition party has accused him of incompetence in managing Pakistan’s economy and foreign policy, and has said he no longer deserves to run for prime minister.
