The students closed the public road in front of Badakhshan University, barring vehicles from traveling, and called on Taliban officials to address the issue of beatings.

Meanwhile, the situation of two students who have been beaten by Taliban militants is reported to be dire.

Taliban officials in Badakhshan have not yet commented.

In the first period of the Taliban rule, however, the group had forced people to attend congregational and Taraweeh prayers.
