UNICEF provided financial assistance to more than 6,000 families in Daikundi

The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has announced the distribution of emergency cash assistance to more than 6,000 families in Daikundi.
Emphasizing that the assistance was intended to provide pregnant women with access to health care in hospitals, the agency wrote in a tweet that the purpose of the assistance was to help women overcome financial barriers to accessing antenatal care, hospital delivery and Postpartum care and vaccination for their children.
Earlier, the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) expressed concern about the situation of mothers in Afghanistan and said that $ 250 million was needed to address the situation of mothers in Afghanistan.
Emphasizing that the crisis in Afghanistan has affected the women of this country the most, the organization added that for every 100,000 births in Afghanistan, 638 mothers lose their lives.
