33 hospitals in Afghanistan will be equipped by the Red Cross

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) says it will equip 33 hospitals in Afghanistan.

It called for continued humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan, saying it would provide day-to-day supplies and medical equipment to 33 hospitals in the country and pay the salaries of more than 10,000 health care workers.

It added that by equipping these hospitals, millions of people would have access to the basic health care they need.

Earlier, Ivy Filion, head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), tweeted that she was “deeply concerned” about the plight of the people in Afghanistan and said that people in Afghanistan were at greater risk of poverty than ever before.

The head of the Red Cross Committee further stressed that more needs to be done to support the people of Afghanistan.
