Mujahid: People who used the name of the Taliban and committed crimes have been punished

A Taliban spokesman said criminals who used the name of Taliban forces and committed crimes had been punished by the group’s court.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid said in a statement that seven people had been convicted of kidnapping, one of murder and one of forgery by a military court, including in prison.

According to him, the group’s military court is handling cases of individuals who claim to be members of the Taliban and are harassing people.

Meanwhile, according to a previous report released by the United Nations, dozens of former government soldiers and employees have been killed or disappeared since the Taliban came to power, despite a general amnesty by the Taliban.
