Taliban: Abdul Rauf’s rescue operation lasted more than 20 days in Mazar-e-Sharif

A Taliban spokesman said the operation to rescue Abdul Rauf in Mazar-e-Sharif lasted more than 20 days.

Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid tweeted that the operation to rescue Abdul Rauf had been going on for more than 20 days, but that Abdul Rauf was finally rescued after a number of kidnappers killed and arresting others.

According to him, military operations are underway to identify and arrest the other perpetrators of this incident, which will be exposed after the end of the operation and will be brought to justice.

Meanwhile, Amrullah Saleh, Former First Vice President of Afghanistan, said that Abdul Rauf had been released after paying $ 450,000 in taxes and ransom, but the Taliban said they would provide details soon.

It should be noted that Abdul Rauf was abducted about two years ago in Mazar-e-Sharif, the capital of Balkh province, and at that time Mazar-e-Sharif residents were protesting for his release.
