Taliban to drivers in Kandahar: Do not transport women alone

The Taliban in Kandahar has ordered drivers of trucks and rickshaws not to transport women alone.

Maulvi Abdul Rahman, the head of the Enjoining the good and forbidding the evil of Taliban in Kandahar, instructed all drivers of trucks and rickshaws in the province not to move the women alone afterwards in a video.

He said in the video that transporting women alone in cars would lead to moral corruption.

Head of the Enjoining the good and forbidding the evil of Taliban in Kandahar has also instructed the group’s forces to deal with drivers who carry women alone in their vehicles.

Earlier, the Taliban Ministry of Enjoining the good and forbidding the evil had ordered drivers in Kabul not to carry unveiled and unmarried women in their vehicles.

The ministry then made it mandatory for women to wear the hijab in public places, and ordered female TV presenters to cover their faces during the program.
