Taliban Education Department in Ghazni: Girls to cover their faces when going to school

Sources in Ghazni say that the Taliban Department of Education has instructed all girls’ schools in the province to allow girls in grades four through six to wear the hijab and cover their faces when traveling to and from school.

Sources in girls’ schools in Ghazni province say that the order from the Taliban’s education department states that students will be expelled from the school if they do not follow the order.

The Taliban had previously made it mandatory for women and girls to wear the hijab in public.

The group has also instructed female TV presenters to cover their faces while performing.
