Two cases of monkey pox were recorded in Nimroz province
Officials at the Nimroz Public Health Department say that two cases of monkey pox have been reported in the province.
Maulvi Abdullah, director of public health in Nimroz province, said that two cases of monkey pox had been reported in the province and that the two people who had contracted the disease were migrants who had recently returned to Afghanistan from Iran.
The head of Nimroz Public Health adds that the two may have transmitted the virus from Iran.
Meanwhile, a few days ago, officials from the Taliban Ministry of Public Health announced that no cases of monkey pox had been registered in the country so far.
The World Health Organization has so far reported 257 confirmed cases of the disease and 120 suspected cases in 23 countries.
