A fire in Mazar-e-Sharif killed one person

Taliban officials in Balkh say one person has been killed in a fire in the provincial capital.

Mohammad Asif Waziri, spokesman for the Balkh Police Command, said the fire broke out yesterday in the second security district of Mazar-e-Sharif.

He added that the fire started from the cigarette filter fire and as a result, an old man died due to smoke.

The fire also caused nearly 1 million in financial losses, he said.
