UNAMA condemned the attack on a Sikh shrine in Kabul

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) has condemned the attack on a Sikh shrine in Kabul and called for an end to attacks on civilians.
UNAMA said in a statement that it strongly condemned the attack on the Sikh temple in Kabul, which reportedly resulted in heavy casualties.
UNAMA has called for the support of all minorities in Afghanistan, including Sikhs, Hazaras and Sufis, stressing that attacks on civilians must be stopped immediately.
The attack on the Sikh shrine in the Bagh Bala area of Kabul’s second security district began yesterday with a series of explosions and ended around noon with the death of the assailants who had entered the Sikh shrine.
Taliban Interior Ministry spokesman Abdul Nafi Takur said several assailants threw hand grenades at bodyguards before entering the shrine, wounding two bodyguards.
According to him, one Taliban and one Hindu were killed and seven others were wounded in the incident.
But some sources say 30 people have been killed in the blasts and clashes, including Taliban forces, Hindu civilians and assailants.
