The Taliban allocated one billion afghanis to earthquake victims in the country

The Taliban cabinet held an emergency meeting to address the quake victims in the country and announced that it had allocated one billion afghanis to the victims of the incident.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid tweeted that the meeting was chaired by the group’s prime minister, Mullah Mohammad Akhand, and called on aid agencies to take care of the victims.
At the meeting, the Taliban cabinet ordered immediate deliveries of food, clothing, medicine and other supplies to the quake victims.
According to Taliban officials, 920 people were killed and 610 others were injured in the quake in Paktia, Khost and Nangarhar provinces.
The quake, which was reported to be the capital of Khost province, struck around 1:30 a.m. this morning and shook parts of Afghanistan and Pakistan.
The US Geological Survey reported a magnitude of 6.1 on the Richter scale.
