Iran, Qatar and Pakistan send aid to earthquake victims in Afghanistan

Taliban officials say humanitarian aid from Iran, Qatar and Pakistan has arrived in the country for the quake victims.

Zabihullah Mujahid, a Taliban spokesman, tweeted that two planes carrying Iran’s aid to the quake-hit had arrived in the country following the aid to the quake victims.

He added that Pakistan had also sent eight trucks full of food and supplies to Paktika province to help the quake victims by land.

He also informed about the humanitarian aid of Qatar and added that a plane carrying Qatari humanitarian aid also arrived in Kabul last night.

A strong earthquake yesterday morning shook parts of Afghanistan and Pakistan.

According to the Taliban, the quake killed more than 1,000 people in Paktika, Khost and Nangarhar provinces, and injured about 1500 others.

In addition to the loss of life, the earthquake has caused huge financial losses to the people of the eastern regions of Afghanistan.
