Taliban: Police uniforms distributed to all Kabul constituencies

Officials at the Kabul Police Headquarters say the new police uniform has been distributed to all Kabul checkpoints.

According to the Bakhtar state news agency, the Kabul police command has instructed all districts of Kabul that no police officer is allowed to work without a specified uniform.

The Taliban’s interior ministry had earlier said in a news release, quoting ministry spokesman Abdul Nafi Takur, that the distribution of uniforms to the ANP had begun and that 20,000 new uniforms had been prepared and would be distributed to police in Kabul and Kandahar provinces. And this number will reach one hundred thousand in the near future.

Heretofore the Taliban police force did not have a uniform and wore former government army uniforms or local uniforms.
