Russia and Taliban agreed on joint fight against terrorism

The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia has said that the Foreign Minister of his country has reached an agreement with the Acting Foreign Minister of the Taliban on the fight against terrorism.

Maria Zakharova, the spokeswoman of the Russian Foreign Ministry, said in a press conference that her country’s foreign minister and the acting foreign minister of the Taliban agreed on a joint fight against terrorism in a telephone conversation.

He said: Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Amir Khan Motaghi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the interim government of the Taliban, agreed to strengthen cooperation in the field of anti-terrorism activities.

He added that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Afghanistan’s Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs have agreed to increase cooperation between the two countries in the fight against terrorism.
