The Afghan Red Crescent registered 11,000 children with heart holes

Officials in the office of Hilal Ahmad Afghani say that more than 11,000 children with piercings in the country have been registered with this committee this year.

According to Salam Watandar, Irfanullah Sharafzoi, the spokesperson of the Afghan Red Crescent Society office, says that this year, 707 children have been referred to hospitals in the country by this committee, of which 9 children are being treated in Pakistani hospitals.

He said: “The officials of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation have promised us that they will cooperate with us in the treatment of patients, that this process will be completed and then implemented. It takes time and no one has made an absolute promise to cooperate yet. Nearly 11,000 children with a hole in the heart were registered last month and are waiting for treatment.

According to doctors, air pollution, insufficient nutrition of mothers during pregnancy and family marriages are the most important causes of heart holes in children.
