United Nations: Unexploded ordnance kills more than 60 people every month in Afghanistan
The United Nations Mine Action Service says that more than 60 people are killed in Afghanistan every month as a result of the explosion of unexploded ordnance.
This organization wrote on page X that Afghanistan is facing an unprecedented humanitarian crisis and more than 60 people are killed and maimed every month due to the explosion of explosive ammunition in this country.
The United Nations Mine Action Service added that the action and support of the international community is urgently needed to prevent such events from happening.
Earlier, the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) in a statement called Afghanistan one of the countries contaminated by unexploded ordnance and said that children suffer about 85% of casualties from these incidents.
UNICEF added that this organization teaches children to recognize and avoid unexploded ordnance.
