United Nations: Afghanistan is on the brink of a climate disaster
The Asian division of the United Nations Development Program says that Afghanistan is on the brink of a climate disaster.
This organization wrote on page X that Afghanistan is on the brink of a climate disaster and action should be taken now to support climate resilience and ensure a sustainable future for people and the planet.
Stephen Rodriquez, the head of the United Nations Development Program in Afghanistan, said that floods and some natural disasters cause economic losses of 400 million dollars annually in Afghanistan, which affects an average of 335,000 people due to insufficient infrastructure.
He added that at the 28th United Nations Climate Change Summit in Dubai, there is a vital opportunity to address the impact of climate change and strengthen climate resilience in Afghanistan.
However, it should be noted that no delegation from Afghanistan has been invited to the United Nations climate change meeting.
