China to Aid 100 Million Yen to Returning Afghan Refugees

Khalilur Rahman Haqqani, acting minister of refugees and returnees, met with Chinese Ambassador Zhao Xing in his office.

Chinese Ambassador said: “China and Afghanistan are two friendly countries and the Chinese people are on the side of the Afghan people in every problem.”

The meeting discussed the priority of humanitarian assistance to Afghan refugees, the mechanisms for transferring and distributing it.

The money will be spent in the provision of shelter, tents, winter clothing packages and health care for Afghan refugees, the ambassador added.

Acting Minister of Refugees appreciated the assistance of China to Afghan refugees, and the decision was made to establish and move forward with the joint committee by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Refugees and Embassy of China for technical work.
