Trying to standardize airfields

Mr. Ahmadi stated that 27 airports are active in the country and added that international flights are made from five airports in the country.
According to the spokesman of the Ministry of Transportation and Aviation, many airports, including Kabul Airport, were destroyed after the revolution in the country, but they were rebuilt and ready for flight during the rule of the Islamic Emirate.
Mr. Ahmadi said: “After the withdrawal of NATO and American forces, the supplementary air sector was paralyzed, all the country’s airfields were destroyed, its equipment was damaged, and after the conquest, we were able to supply the fields with equipment as soon as possible.”
Imamuddin Varimach, the former deputy of the Ministry of Transportation and Aviation, said that in order to resume the flights of major aviation companies, it is necessary for the airports to be equal to international standards.
“Infrastructure is very important, especially in the aviation sector,” said Mr. Verimach. Having standard airfields in all provinces of Afghanistan is one of the necessities, especially in large provinces.
On the other hand, the Chamber of Commerce and Investment says that in order to resume the flights of aviation companies, it is necessary to solve the visa problems.
Khanjan Alkozi, a member of the board of directors of the Chamber of Commerce and Investment, said: “India does not give us visas, China and some countries in Central Asia, Russia and the UAE also do not give us visas, and we have a lot of businessmen who have to go back and forth.”
Before this, some foreign aviation companies, including Fly Dubai and Air Arabia, resumed their flights in Afghanistan.
