Holding a competitive calligraphy and painting exhibition in Kabul

A competitive calligraphy and painting exhibition was held in Kabul. In this exhibition, more than seventy artists have exhibited their painting and calligraphy creations.

They criticize what they consider to be a lack of attention to the arts of painting and calligraphy in Kabul.

Participant Zermine said: “Until I arrived today, I never had a teacher with whom I worked; But I am proud that we reached this level today.”

Another participant Angel said: “Art is basically a necessity in a society, because it is to depict the facts of a society.”

Artists want the support and provision of facilities in the field of raw materials from the Islamic Emirate for themselves and their colleagues.

The participant Mozamel said: “Even though we are working hard, culture and art form half of the body of the society; But no one supports us, our art is becoming less and less day by day.”

Gholam Hossein, another participant, said: “The live exhibitions held this year are very good and have had a good effect on all participants.”

At the same time, the officials of the Afghan Culture and Art House consider the goal of launching a competitive program to be the growth and support of painters and calligraphers.

Officials of this institution add that this program was held in collaboration with the Ministry of Information and Culture and the Afghan Culture and Art House at the Kabul International Exhibition.

Reza Mitaman, the head of the House of Culture and Art, said: “Through this, we can worry the artists who stayed at home and didn’t want to go to their galleries, so that they can continue their art and their talent will not be spared.”

According to the officials of the Afghanistan House of Culture and Art, currently ninety percent of painting and calligraphy galleries have been closed for various reasons and their closure has caused the art of painting and calligraphy to fade among the youth.
