The big TAPI project was inaugurated by the authorities of Afghanistan and Turkmenistan

Mullah Mohammad Hasan, Akhand, the head of the Afghan caretaker government, together with the national leader of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Bardimohamedov, inaugurated the TAPI project and three other projects today.

The opening ceremony of TAPI was held in “Salim Cheshme Mari” region of Turkmenistan. Officials of both countries have talked about the importance of implementing the big TAPI development project and expanding relations between the two countries and called it useful and valuable for the well-being and comfort of the people of Afghanistan and Turkmenistan.

Simultaneously with the opening of the big TAPI project, several projects related to TAPI (optical fiber, railway and substation projects) have been opened on the common border of Afghanistan and Turkestan.

TAPI project or pipeline for the transmission of gas from Turkmenistan to India and Pakistan through Afghanistan is 1,840 km long, of which 816 km passes through the provinces of Herat, Farah, Nimroz, Helmand and Kandahar.

Some Afghan citizens have welcomed the opening of the TAPI project and say that, with the implementation of this project, the work environment for thousands of workers will be favorable.
