Suhail Shaheen Hails Nationwide Peace as ‘Great Blessing’ for Afghanistan

On September 21, the International Day of Peace, Suhail Shaheen, the head of the Islamic Emirate’s political office in Qatar, stated that after forty years, nationwide peace has been established in Afghanistan.
Suhail Shaheen said that every Afghan should contribute to the country’s peace and stability and work to sustain peace.
Speaking , the head of the Islamic Emirate’s political office in Qatar said: “With the establishment of the Islamic system in Afghanistan, nationwide peace has come to the country after forty years, and this is a great blessing. Now, every individual in Afghanistan must work to ensure lasting peace so that our future generations can live with dignity in peace and stability.”
Some political analysts believe that to maintain lasting peace in the country, the interim government and the people must work to ensure that there are no enemies of Afghanistan anywhere in the world.
Hanif Karokhail, a political analyst, stated: “Now that nationwide peace has been achieved, the government and the people are obligated to work towards its consolidation so that not a single enemy of Afghanistan can be found anywhere in the world. Those who oppose should come through dialogue and benefit from the government’s advantages.”
Gul Mohammaddin Mohammadi, another political analyst, said: “For this peace and stability to be enduring and to prevent foreign groups from interfering in the country’s internal affairs, the leaders of the Islamic Emirate need to make greater efforts in this area.”
At the same time, on the International Day of Peace, the Secretary-General of the United Nations criticized ongoing conflicts in some countries and called on all parties to foster a culture where equality, peace, and justice can thrive.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres said: “Everywhere we look, peace is under attack. From Gaza, to Sudan, to Ukraine and beyond we see: Civilians in the firing line; Homes blown apart; Traumatised, terrified populations who have lost everything – and sometimes everyone. This catalogue of human misery must stop. Our world needs peace. Peace is the ultimate prize for all humanity. And as this International Day of Peace reminds us – the solutions are in our hands. Cultivating a culture of peace means replacing division, disempowerment, and despair with justice, equality and hope for all.”
The International Day of Peace has been celebrated in various countries around the world since 1982. The United Nations also commemorated this year’s International Day of Peace to promote the culture of peace.
